The Scantronic EXP-PSU series (Eaton EXP intruder system expanders) offers a robust solution for expanding the capacity and range of Scantronic intruder alarm systems. These units combine a 10 wired zone expander with a fully monitored intelligent power supply unit (PSU), connecting directly to the control panel via the system bus. Designed to suit installations of varying sizes and security requirements, the series includes options for 1 Amp, 2 Amp, and 3 Amp power delivery, ensuring adequate power for additional detectors, sounders, and auxiliary devices located far from the main panel.

Each unit provides 10 zone inputs and 4 transistor outputs, enabling significant local expansion without the need for complex cabling back to the central controller. The bus-connected architecture ensures reliable two-way communication and advanced diagnostics.

• EXP-PSU-SM (Small Metal Case) This is the entry-level model featuring a 1 Amp power supply housed in a compact metal case (240mm x 250mm). Ideally suited for smaller installations or extensions, it supports a single 7Ah backup battery and is certified to EN 50131 Grade 2.
• EXP-PSU-MM (Medium Metal Case) Designed for mid-sized applications, this model steps up to a 2 Amp power supply and a larger enclosure (402mm x 320mm) capable of housing a larger 17Ah battery. This unit meets the more stringent EN 50131 Grade 3 standards, making it suitable for higher security commercial risks.
